Hi,
People keep saying that networking is the best way to get jobs but how do people actually network?
Thanks!

Networking isn’t a real thing. It’s a way for rich people to justify hiring their less than optimal friends.

Networking is creating opportunities, when more people know about your skills your chances of getting hired or being considered for a position increases.
consider this, there would be many departments in your organisation which offer a better profile than your current one. imagine a position gets vacant there, a senior knows you since you took part in company organised quiz/ played foosball/Table tennis in office ( my office has one), went to townhall etc etc…. he might recommend you name.. might…
bacially networking is marketing yourself…

Networking…hmmm used to have a course on Networking in college but i think that was something to do with HTTP/FTP stuff…….
IMO easiest way to Network for job oppurtunities would be to find alumni on your linkedin network…..connect with them…..have chat with them……let them know what you looking for and if they see any right oppurtunity….then you know maybe ask for referal too……alumni mostly keen to help
It’s just one very simple way which i have found to be very useful
