New CFA Charterholder Advertisement Campaign

I have, and it hasn’t done enough to convince that I am, in fact, the future of finance.

Neither in the financial times … I checked for the names but I have not seen any yet.

I got the email and wondered if anyone would actually post that on the cover photo. Can you imagine the amount of abuse you’d get if you put up a picture stating that you were the future of finance? My mates are still giving me stick about disappearing for a few years.
Possibly this would have more traction in the emerging markets
I also received a booklet in the mail that read more like i was being indocrinated into a cult rather than acheiving a prestigious professional charter.

Gringo, Not sure which emerging market you are talking about but I can say for India it is a dismal situation with a CFA. May be I am an outlier as I do not have exposure in capital markets and did it more out of passion than anything else. But by and large, CFA has yet to break the ice in India ,though one can notice a certain degree of hoopla surrounding it, guess it will take some time for CFA to make inroads and put the Professionals in the right pedestal. So no, I don’t agree with your statement that it has more traction in emerging markets.. atleast not in India that is if you conder India an emerging market.

I wasn’t particularly clear in my post but what I meant was that the CFAI would likely have more traction with their social media campaign in Emerging Markets like India or China where there is still a bit of status associated with working in finance. Check out the AF facebook likes on the right of this page.

my thoughts exactly.

My 2 cents. Sory guys but I still beg to differ. It really is a pathetic situation. What hurts me the most that it gets limited being a paper qualification and knowing that you have the BEST finance qualification more suited to industry and capital markets people at the sr. level in fund houses with their fat bellies are either grossly ignorant or are skeptical about hiring a CFA. At late 30’s I am finding it difficult to break in that is after even being ready to compromise on the salary front. May be I sound pessimistic but at the end of it I am dying to put my knowledge and possible skill sets to use..
