i know we all have this type of thinking…… “no way they will ask the same question again…” especially 2 years in a row..
Has anyone done any type of research and checked to see?

im wondering becasue it almost seems like it be more beneficial to look at older exams than last years.

CFAI emphasized to focus on the last three years of 2012,2013 and 2014 AM Exams as you will be expecting same content, type of sub-part questions and style in terms of constructed responses, templates.
However old exam may still be relevant especially for IPS and Institutional but you will find some differences in how questions evolved during the past years. I would grab my hand and pen in all CFAI past Mocks which is relevant. but i assure you that there is an odd of 1/3 of expecting same question in the past which will be tested this year and odd of 1/6 you will get same exact questions from past CFAI exams.

no qns are repeated verbatim at least bw 2008 and 2014 papers….but theres enough similarities across these 7 papers in terms of topics and qns covered….and this is only AM, there might be even more similarities if PMs were to be considered…but we dont haev that luxury…to be on the safe side, do as many exams as possible (schweser, cfai mocks, past yr papers) and then hopefully there’ll be v few surprises on Dday….

Everything is testable.. you will be amazed on PM paper with questions you didn’t expect as multiple choice and vice versa..

I do believe they borrow heavily from EOC questions and BB examples

Great point Galli I will be going back to those blue box and EOC Qs heavily (definitely fixed income and weak areas) in the coming weeks. Never took the time to redo them last yr but I should have. This will be my 2nd try.
