OMG - GIPS - WORST - CFAI - READING - EVER

Seriosly - I think they saved the very worst for the very last.
Does this sound familiar.
something something. Historical tale of GIPS in a year gone by. Recommendation a, b c. Rule A explination explination. The rest of this topic is explained in a later section.

something something. Historical tale of GIPS in a year gone by. Recommendation a, b c. Follow rule A always except for something that was said earlier.
This goes on for 78 pages.

Remember couple of things -
1. GIPS has not appeared in AM paper so far.
2. You see them only on PM papers and you can guess how many itemsets would be allocated to GIPS atmost based on its weightage.
So allocate your time/brain efficiently and dont spend too much time on GIPS. Good luck!

Re: my last post, GIPS is a killer. It’s been a few weeks since i last reviewed it and i cant remember anything about 2x11, vs 2xx6/7, vs 2x12. I’d love if someone had a visual of the dates and what they applied to

What makes it doubly funny is that I’m pretty sure I don’t remember anything, and yet you are still forced to learn it.

Lol I literally almost made the same exact post. Worst reading out of the entire CFA curriculm.

I made a thread about this in february.
Learning GIPS feels like a very bad joke, especially with the dates and such crap.

I’ll print GIPS. Distill the papers. Drink them up. My chances of memorizing them that way is the same as by reading them .

I read GIPS once last year and thought I missed something or didn’t try hard enough because I retained nothing. So I read it again and did some practice problems.
Shortly thereafter I decided to punt on GIPS and it worked out well for me. I don’t recommend this approach.
