Optional material

Those of us that use Schweser Notes must have noticed there are some optional material/chapters, especially for the Econ section. I also use Schweser Qbank. When I choose questions from the Qbank for Econ, many are actually from the optional material. I thought the actual exam will NOT test us on the optional stuff. So why does Schweser do this?

I really haven't noticed much of optional material, but if its not required in the LOS, then throw it out the window

maybe schweser does this to make us understand more, like how thier a huge financial accounting section that's not covered by the LOS. Its there to give you the insight of basic stuff.
