optionl segment

Concerning ss11 r49.
In the problems for the reading at the end of the section specifically #8-10 it seems as if they are derived from the optional reading section of the reading. Now I haven�t been reading the option sections of the cfai text thus far. Do these 3 problems need be addressed?
I know it is only 3 problems and I don�t want to make that big of a deal but I just want to make sure that not reading the option sections of the text is the right thing to do..

I would presume that the questions are optional as well. The CFAI curriculum states very clearly that optional material will not be tested on the exam, so it's probably safe to skip.

just seems weird that in some of the errata it will say skip problem 3a for example.. and then in this section it does not say to skip any of the end of chapter questions..when they come from the optional material
