Pass only using CFAI?

I didn’t pass and I used the CFAI books and did the end of chapter questions

Ditto. Love that Schweser Qbank.

I only used CFAI prep materials and started in February, completed 3 complete read throughs, highlighting, notes, and practice tests.

I also only used CFAI for Levels 1 and 2. There is definitely a lot of “noise”, but sometimes you pick up little details that show up in a few exam questions…and in this exam, those few questions could make the difference.

I read through entire CFAI curriculum first, and then finished with Schweser study notes, Q-Bank, and CFAI online practice exams.
CFAI curriculum gives you a solid foundation, but I found some sections poorly written and supplemented with Schweser notes.

thanks. you just sold me. Imma get the schweser once they come out in october.

While I depended probably 50-50 on CFAI and Schweser, the sample exam questions from previous exams at the back of the CFAI books were much more similar to the actual exam than the Schweser mock exams.

how many months did that take, honestly how many evemings did you do and duration? then on weekends the same question?
i failed, i knew i would. taking a year off to re-evaluate and have a rest from studying, being a 2nd timer. the next time i am going to use cfai, do as many official questions as possible as i go along and review at the end with more schweser..but i have a year to think about it

I did a similar process as McLeod but instead of using Schweser just did multiple read throughs of the text. I did it in 3.5 months, but I studied around 4-6 hours Mon-Thurs, 6-8 Fri, 8-12 on Sat and Sun.
