Passport and Exam Ticket

I just got off the phone with CFA and figure to save you guys some time. Make sure your passport matches your exam ticket EXACTLY. My exam ticket only has my middle initial while my passport has my middle name spelled out. The person on the phone said I need to submit proper paper work to change the name on the ticket. We still have four weeks so take care of this three weeks prior to exam day. It’s not worth the risk getting turned away from testing center.

I wouldn’t overreact about this. I am sure they proctors will be ok with your middle initial, as long as your passport number and picture match.
 
I’m not overreacting but you are assuming no one will have an over zealous proctor.
 
I wish I could find my past ticket examns..but I am almost sure my tickets had only my middle name initial, just like in your case. In my experiences, proctors were very reasonable people.

Ask the cfa what to do
 
Just call–everyone I’ve spoken to at the CFAI has been extremely courteous and helpful. I was initially afraid to annoy them (as if they would hold it against me in scoring my exam) but I’ve had several good experiences. They want to help.
 
its very sad when ppl do this.
I have seen tons of people being turned away.
also they do not bring the correct calculator. This is a fail

Call the CFAI to be sure, but I am almost positive that´s not a problem as long as your first and last name, passport number and picture are ok. Not letting you take the test because of the omision of a second name sounds extreme, I never saw anything like that happening or even heard of someting like that.
Yet again…call the CFAI to be sure.
 
I’ve seen people turned away, get it fixed asap. The plus side is CFAI is pretty quick with the turnaround on a passport naming issue. Don’t take a chance because you can’t spare 5 mins to submit a change form.
 
This is the easiest part of the exam…don’t fail because of it guys…just follow cfai to the bone for peace of mind.
 
yeah my passport had my middle name whereas my exam ticket didn’t. I sent in a form to have them fix it today
 
Same here. My middle name isn’t included in my ticket. Thank god I came across this topic. Almost passed the deadline for name change !!
Just to make sure I attached a scanned copy of the form and a copy of my passport. That is all that is required for a name change right?
 
yes, that’s everything.
In my case they edited my ticket with less than 24 hours
 
Hi everyone,
The process is super easy to fix. I filled out the information and scanned my passport and sent attached PDF files to CFA. They fixed my name in under 24hrs. It makes no sense to have to worry about on whether you will be allowed to sit for the exam because your name doesn’t match the ticket. Good Luck everyone on your final preperations.
