I have been looking at ways to find as many tough CFA pactise exams a possible. I have exhousted many and I am thinking of doing the questions in past CFAI mock exams from 2008 to 2013. But are they relavant 100% to 2014 exams and if they are not 100% relavant, then how much relavant?
Thanks.

Maybe not 100% relevant, but still largely relevant. Relevant enough that you should do them.

May I ask how you found the exams? I have been looking for previous year exams but couldn’t find them?

Better off just doing 2010-2014. Some of the questions repeat..well a lot of them do..you don’t need to do the sample ones because they are just a repeat of the mocks. Make sure you know how to do the CFAI eocs cold and that you flip through the appendix and write down any definitions you don’t know.

I was printing L2 & L3 mock exams while I was a L1 candidate. Also had a candidate co-worker two years ahead of me, so I got his past mocks to use.

Oh yah you can get all your CFA material stuff off Tao Bao the Chinese online shopping site. Lots of ethics violoations there but it’s really a cheap solution…
You can get the whole scheweser set for like 100 bucks which includes q bank, 2 sets of mocks 2014 and 2013, all the scheweser books, the videos, secret sauce, the cfai mocks, the cfa books…study notes…etc…they run any entire operation…..
Never tried it though, just asked one of the sellers. I used Elan which was wonderful…still mad that they screwed me in fixed income though…

I may have mislead you. I was refering to past mock exams and NOT past exams.

I am actually trying to find them past mock exams now.

Not that relevant for derivatives, fixed income, and alternative investments, IMO.
Derivatives for 2015 does not have forwards, futures, and swaps anymore.
While the concepts discused in fixed income were mostly the same, the texts had a major overhaul. Will be very wary. (In fact, formula for convexity changed in this 2014’s text!)
Alts has no commodities anymore.

What DOES derivatives have if neither fwds, nore futures nor swaps?
if there are such significant changes how will candidates who take a break between levels be able to keep up? I mean now 2015 LII material builds on 2014 LI material - I guess.
but if I take LII only in 2016 will I have to purchase 2015 LI and go through it??

No, you should be able to pass each level with the curriculum given for that level.

I think the content changes enough year to year that you are best to stick to the current mock exams. That said, if you already have the curriculum and mocks from registering from a previous year it can’t hurt to look over them.
