How often does this happen? I have not seen one publically posted in the news/CFA Institute Home, etc ( i.e. CFAI PCP is now investigating Joey).

Is it just that secretive that only you and them know? There are a handful of posts on this site when I used the search button, mostly for test misconduct.

Just curious overall

They did. Are they doing it again? That's all I need in my life.

Edit: They investigated me not for test misconduct but for a BS intellectual property lawsuit that they felt they ought to interfere with. They dropped it eventually.

Joey now is this an exclusive investigation without the bright media lights?

One thing I'm wondering (From Series 7 Land) is that you can go to brokercheck at the FINRA http://www.finra.org/InvestorInformation/InvestorProtection/p005882 and check up on your advisor/broker for any misconduct, criminal record, complaints etc.

Does such a thing exist for Charterholders? I would imagine yes, but I don't know where it is.

PCP investigations are kept secret. If they decide to punish you, then punishment can be public or private. Unless you do something really wrong, you can generally keep it private.

PCP investigations are not at all fun. CFAI doesn't play fair and makes up crazy rules as though go along. It cost me significant money and more than a little aggravation. I hated every last minute of it and felt deeply put upon that I couldn't have a disagreement that required a Court without CFAI sticking their nose in and causing me trouble. Reasonable people can have issues about ownership of intellectual property without it being an ethical issue (not to mention that my dispute was pretty deep about "inevitable disclosure" and CFAI is asking about plagiarism, etc.). Anyway, I still don't joke about it.
