how do we break a conversation w/ the HR ppl who's hiring?i found sometimes they didn't seem to be very interested.
i never feel i met more than 50% requirements for any jobs i am interested and sometimes it makes me feel intimidated.where is my competitive advantage?
how do i get to learn how to talk to industry ppl?i stayed in school most of the time and got very limited knowledge of financial market, job opportunities, other profession in this field.i wonder what i could talk to 'em.
regarding my work experience,in academia for 2~3 yrs now.know a lot of things, yet hardly focused, and not related to finance.mostly health science related analysis and data modeling.i know ppl still get into financial field w/ this background anyway.

cindy, my experience is that job descriptions are generally fluffed and it is rare to meet each and every criteria listed. I don't know why this is done.

in the event that they actually find a person with all of the requirements, they are golden.

there ARE people out there that do. one day you'll meet all the requirements too for a job. it just takes time :)
