Practice exams ( 2011 versus 2012)

Hi Guys ,
i had a question to retakers , did u guys compare the schwser 2011 and 2012 V1 AND V2 practice exams volumes? i have 2011, do i need to purchase the 2012. iam depending on the cirr. for studying but will take a look at the volumes, i got 2011 from a friend, do i need to purchase 2012? are there differneces in questions? please advice .
 
No, there is no material difference.
In fact, they are so pathetically lazy that they use the same questions, verbatim, and just rearrange the order in which they are asked. The ONLY time they give you ANY new material is if a new section was added – so, pretty much you are getting the exact same shit except for behavioral finance. I even called Schweser and they confirmed this.
They are only hurting themselves as any informed candidate is not going to buy their crap more than once.
 
I didn’t even bother to call. They had the very same material since 2009 at least in 2011 , as I got the 2009 one from my friend in March 2011 and they were verbatim the same as my own purchased for 2011 . Except this year they might have added / changed BF section as markCFAIL says. Not worth buying the new ones for just one section
 
I think this is pretty universal: Compare the 2012 CFAI texts to the 2011 CFAI texts, and you’ll find that they’re 90%+ page-for-page identical. The only differences are a handful of readings added/deleted/replaced in their entirety.
The prep providers seem to do exactly the same thing, except that – unlike the CFAI – the prep providers can’t force retakers to buy those materials every year.
 
thx guys, i will not buy them . in the end i believe the actual past CFA exams are much more important..
