Practice Questions in Item Set Format?

I know this question has been asked a million times before BUT:
I have noticed that the major prep providers practice questions (not mocks) are like l1 style (no item set format). Would you advise that this OK whilst studying? I thought it would be better to do questions in item set format as you go along as it is more representative of the actual exam. What are your thoughts?
I was with Schweser for L1 but inclinedto try Elan for l2 as I heard good things.

Finquiz gives you lot of Itemset questions. I used Finquiz for my L2 and liked them.
 
I think that using CFAI EOC’s will suffice for practice questions. Use the prep providers and cover the EOC’s multiple times and you will be in good shape.
Make sure to cover all the EOC’s, not just the multiple choice questions.
