Hello guys,
Just wondering if any of you have done any previous AM morning real exams?? I downloaded 2013, 2014 and 2015 (which i actually failed last year band 10) from the CFA Institute website in January and i did them as practice this weekend.
Do you consider these as good as mocks for preparing to beat the exam?
Thanks!
JL

Are you joking?? Or are you seriously asking if actual exams are as good as a test provider mock?
Not trying to be a ****, but Dude, they are actual exams!!! Haha

Just ignore the previous two posters. I would say that they’re ideal in order to get a feel for what the exam will look like. Since they are actual prior CFAI Exams then you can really get a feel for the style and the depth of knowledge required.

Hi,
I did those exams and i scored 82 & 86 in each of them.
Im repeating the test this year, and if you hadnt notice, those exams are easier than actual mocks, maybe some kindness can help you, not to became CFA Charterholders, but to be better persons. Indeed soft skill make leaders not knowing how to calculate an stochastic differencial equation (and i do know).
I asked because i do think those exams are easier, and i dont know if it is correct to compare 80 in that vs 80 in 2014 mock exam (which is way more difficult)..
Thank you “The Nature Boy” for your serious response

I’d tend to agree that past mocks will obviously be a good indicator or what will be expected in this year’s exam. However, scoring 82 and 86, I’d possibly try to be a little tougher on yourself in the grading process. If that is actually what you got with a stringent grading process, awesome job! You shouldn’t have a problem in June.
My method is such that if there’s ever a seed of doubt as to whether a point should be awarded or not, don’t award the point. You’ll likely get a better feel for how well you really know the material and hopefully set a realistic floor of your current knowledge.

Man, I know everyone is super serious but folks need to lighten up a bit… I was just joking around.
But you guys make some good points about mocks being harder, although I am not finding the past exams to be easier by any means. All of it is good review. I think the goal is to cover as much material as possible and the more mocks and past exams you do the better.
Good luck guys! And I will save any additional humor until after exam day. My super serious face is on now… Grrrrr

I really hope to pass. Ive been studying since december, yesterday did 2013 am mock and scored 77 (although mocks are multiple choice questions)
Regarding the last real exams, i think 2014 was easier (its only am part) and 2015.. well .. that is the exam i failed and as i began studying i already knew my weak areas, so it is “natural” that when i did it it was a good score ( i remember a lot of questions since the exam day :P :P)
