Proctors make it feel like a prison

Everything from bag check to the pre and post exam warnings make me feel like the testing center was a prison. I had to remind myself I paid these people to be there.

I felt like I just got out of prison when I left the test center. They were watching us like a bunch of vultures circling, sometimes to the point of distraction. Although this time they did not take the rubber band around my pencils.

I left the plastic sac (transparent) and rubber band for my pencils under my chair, they took it away without asking…

The Vancouver proctors were pretty cool. Really nice and helpful actually. Like when I need to go to the bathroom, they pick up my exam ticket and give it to me, and gather my exam materials and passport up, just to save me a little time.
We had proctors sitting OUTSIDE the bathrooms.
The proctors seemed to be of positive disposition. Smiling, and such.
I saw one candidate have his cap checked, and another candidate’s elastic band got taken away, but the proctors were pretty polite about it.

I wasn’t allowed to bring a plastic ziploc bag to carry my stuff in. What was up with that?! I didn’t have pockets…

You rack disciprin.

San Fran has the worst proctors, last year they took the small rubber band wrapped around my pencils. At least they didn’t write me up for it.

The San Francisco proctors took the paper lining on my eraser. I guess that’s fair (?). The rubber band thing is a bit weird though. I can’t imagine why CFAI would have anything against rubber bands.

I think it’s standard. I saw someone have a rubber band taken away at my test center.

My Chicago proctor was unreal, quite distracting. He checked my Passport three times during the morning session. He probably came back a third time after my comment on the second check….”Are you serious?”

The proctors where I was were chill. Too chill if you ask me.

I guess CFAI thinks Black-Schoels could be written on a rubber band. They also took the cover to my eraser.

I couldn’t believe how much ours allowed. Maybe I just pay attention to the rules more than I should out of fear, but the second they called time and people put their pencils down, THE ENTIRE ROOM seemed like it was full of chatter. Long before the exam books had been picked up. And when the main guy was walking to the podium to read his final script (about not discussing test questions, etc), people just got up and left. Before he even spoke. I was suprprised they allowed it. There was also one girl who got up 3 times between when the booklets were collected and when we were released to ask the proctors a question. Walked right up to their table where they were counting everything and just started talking to them.
Partly it annoys me because if everyone did sh*t like that we’d be stuck in that room until the end of time, but I also think it’s crazy to even risk being written up.

I remind myself that everytime I go to renew my DL/plates.
