Its not too early to begin to consider a study group (following assumes you have responsible group members):
Pros:
- encourages you to stay on schedule
- encourages you to really try to understand the material (we don't want to look like idiots
around fellow professionals)
- discussing material with others forces structured thought, and allows you to get other
perspectives
- access to others who may have experience in certain topics
- access to additional study resources
Cons:
- must devote additional time to travel, diplomacy
- need to agree and stick to date / time - difficult to do with others' work/play schedules
- risk of unqualified or non-serious candidates in your group can slow or disrupt
It seems like a group of 3 -5 members is optimal from my past experience. Please share your thoughts on other pros, cons, whatevers.
