So Quartic Training is a new advertiser.

1) Does this have anything to do with Galois or Cardano?
2) Does it have anything to do with PassPro?
3) Has anybody heard of these people before?

Make sure you click a few times on their website....

There are some nice quotes from Buffett and Faber on website.

The best part about the CFA program is the pronounced separation of teacher & test-giver.

I have never heard of them before today, Joey.

In the company's FAQ section it says "In addition to these two costs /enrolment fees to CFA Institute + fee to Quartic Training/, you will need to buy Schweser Study Notes study notes [sic!] ---, and a calculator if you are not on a Quartic Education course."

Their site mentions a 0844 number. It seems to be for people working from a Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) to get similar functionality to an expensive PBX switchboard.

I was very happy with my Schweser notes ans lectures so I think I'll stick with them as my course provider of choice.

On the other hand, Google tells me CEO Nicholas Blain is mentioned in connection to GARP and the FRM exam and in connection to CFA prep courses for CFA Society of Japan. I also got page hits with reference(s) to CFA courses in Singapore, Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur, London, Dublin and Zurich and references to Kaplan and the UK Securities Institute. That said, I wouldn't count him out.

He is on LinkedIn http://www.linkedin.com/in/nicholasblain if anybody would be interested.

Seems he has just set up his own business; in October last year by all accounts. But with his past track record, people on these boards must surely have met him in class !?

Interesting. Google's cache of the AF still has a link to http://www.passpro.com/ but now there is a link to http://www.quartic-training.co.uk/ instead. The switch must have happened recently. Now I see why you're asking Q 2.

I know Nicolas Blain personally - he was responsible for my passing L1 and L2. I attended his classes in Singapore (under FTC) and I can attest to the quality of his instruction. You really learn the depth of the material, rather than just gaming to pass (like Nathan Ronen, whose class I also attended here in NYC). It was an incredibly satisying experience to learn with Nicolas. If you're in London and need CFA instruction, you're in luck. I was wishing that Nicolas opened Quartic in New York when I was preparing for L3.
