Anyone agrees that there was a question from dropped material (last year’s curriculum) ? If so, will CFAI consider this?
Thanks

AM i guess.. it was a sub question .. can’t be more specific.

You should flag this issue to CFAI then. And if that’s the case, then CFAI is most likely take into consideration.

I just wanna make sure if someone agrees before i send an email to CFAI .

Just send an email. They’re not going to hurt you for suggesting something, and we’re not going to get the bottom of this on here without discussing the exam in more depth, which as we all know is a violation of the Standards.
You’re a bit late on submitting exam feedback though… I think the specific form for that closed the week after the exam…

I’m not worried about it cause I believe I got this question correct (im a retaker and I had it on my notes). I’m just checking if anyone shares the same thought on this one.

I used 2014 Schweser and the 2014 CFAI Curriculum alone to study. During review I did past three years of CFAI mock exams.
I don’t recal any topic or concept on the exam that was foreign. If something was on the exam that was not in the 2014 curriculum, it must have been covered in a previous mock for me not to notice.

now that I think of it, there was a small sub part of a question that i didn’t seem to recognise at all, the final sub part of question on a topic that had been partially rewritten.
I assumed it was a schweser black spot

I only used CFAI text to study, and there were definitely a few parts of the AM (and PM) that I didn’t recognize at all.
Some of them, perhaps, i just forgot reading, but it wouldnt surprise me if a few of these were accidentaly included in the exam, as I had no recollection of some of the terms or concepts on the exam.

I believe only 1 part was from dropped material ..

Without me knowing the question, my only question is could a candidate derive the answer from the current reading? I felt there were quite a few questions that were not in the readings (particurally AM) but the CFA testmakers required you to provide your knowledge of the readings.
I wrote the CFA Institute on three sub part questions. Not sure if it will do any good but it made me feel better. It is probably too late now but you could still email them. I would only make sure the question is not in the CFA readings so pick the pages out to make it easy for them.

Post-exam, I’ve searched for key words on the e-book of the CFAI books because of things I wanted to check. Each time, the topic was there in the text, whether it be a whole section or just one line. I don’t think CFAI would screw up like that. But never hurts to call it to their attention.

If you wrote L2 last year you would know that they can ‘screw up like that’. We were asked in the exam to calculate something never required by the LOSs.

I sat L2 last year and whilst many will disagree the question referred to could be answered from other LOS. It was however typical of some CFA questions where they ask something which would be be straightforward if you know how to do the calcualtion, but can be derived from existing knowledge if you think about it.
You may think this unfair, but who said anything about this being fair.

I went through all of the books a few times, used Schweser & Finquiz notes & practice exams. I am really thinking hard about the specific question but am not sure which one you are referring.
My only complaint about this entire exam was #24 & 25. I remember the questions verbatim and to say the wording was atrocious would be an understatement.
I thought #29 & 30 were also poorly written but I don’t think I really understood that concept well enough to b!tch too much about the wording.
