I think the 10,000 installation expenditure should be capitalized. So, I choice D. But according to the answer behind, C is the right answer. Hence the installation fee should be expensed. Can anybody tell me why?

i think you read the question wrong. 10K is already included in the cost of 170K -- no need to add 10 to 170 and make it 180.
