Do you enroll to level 2 for June 2015 or you would rather have a year of break? I have passed level 1 this June, studying for 3 months really hard. I have made approximately 350 hours (logged all of them) and started studying on 20 February. I have managed to score all topics >70% which makes me think I have sacrified too much for the exam. I have gone part time for 2 months in my company (which is another cost of not earning money I could earn if I worked full time) and I feel totally burnt out. I mean I was willing so much to pass this level 1, it costed me so much money, time and effort. I thought 2 months after the exam I would be feeling OK, ready for the next step. But I don’t. I feel like looking at any CFA-related study materials makes me sick. How much time will I need to re-gain my motivation? How do you feel with it? I feel burnt out. I want to enroll as soon as possible (lowest fee) but I am afraid I will not find enough power in myself to repeat what we have gone through in the months before the exam. Do you feel any similar or is it just me?

Hi,
I think having learned the LI material at such depth will come in handy for you at Level II. You most probably will not feel that huge gap between the two levels.
Try studying less intensively but for a longer period maybe. Start earlier and don’t exhaust yourself. If going part time makes your budget tight don’t do it. (Btw what company allows going part time, I wish I’ve ever had the opportunity…).
I agree studying for the CFA exam should be fun (apart maybe from the last month when you are tired and stressed out).
I have just started looking through the books, started with FRA and I so like it, the first two readings don’t have new information you only have much more complex exercises which makes the whole FRA closer to “reality”. So it seems fun. Also Econ is much shorter!!!

I am taking it this coming June. I don’t want to lose to much info from the L1 that I learned.
I agree with Moosey, should study less intensivley over longer period. I also don’t think craming the last couple months will work for L2. I was gonna start early/mid Nov.

I’m still in college (final year undergrad in engg.) I have decided to wait out untill december and look at the kind of job I actually get. If I end up with a job in finance I’ll register for L2 in June 2015. Else I would wait for a year or so.

Thanks guys for your words and advices. I think I am (slowly) regaining my motivation. It is all about understanding what CFA has been invented for. If you realize (once again) what was the reason for enrolling it makes sense again. I have started this week a new job, which is more in line with the program. I think I am going to register for level II soon. :)

I continued to work full time (8-10 hrs/day) while studying for level 1 this past June and I never really felt exausted. The difference is that I started in December so I recommend going for 6 months and studying less each session. This will help give you some balance and not feel so worn out afterwards. Worked well for me in level 1 and hopefully it does for level 2 next June. Good luck!
