im giving for retab (band 9) .. i knw very thin chances.. bt im confident tht i have cleared…
so question to those who alrdy gave for retab.. any communication from CFAI when will we get our revised results? and wht if it comes after 23st sept? will we have to register then for (l2 or l3) with $710?
and has any one came across any cases where people passed after giving retab…
thanks

Band 9? no chance - even at Band 10 people have a hard time getting their grade changed. Look at previous posts from L1, L2, and L3, don’t think anyone has ever reported a succesful regrade. Sorry to sound harsh but a band 9 is nowhere close to the passing mark - I’d save my $100.

band doesn’t matter, they only change your result if computer read your answer wrong

Good luck. If yours somehow miraculously gets changed I will do it too.

I think a retab is justified only if you think your score is seriously below expectation.
I just wrote to CFA and they claimed it has been several years since they had their last retab grade change.
I also sent out my retab form but I think the chance of a grade change is very slim.

I think I’d only request a Retab if I put in hundreds of hours, was confident that I passed, and somehow ended up in a band 1/2. Something like that may indicate a computer grading error where as a band 9/10 more than likely just means that you were only off by a little. I mean, how do you REALLY know that you should have passed? I’d just save my money if that were the case.

ths is wht my score is.. i was not expecting <50% in quant and eco for sure.. i knw eco was tricky but i think i was well prepared… and for Fixed Income may be 50-70 wld have saved my A$$… anyways.. i thnk im not giving for retab.. coz as per their website it takes 30 to 60 days for them to re access the marks and by tht time it will be 23rd sep (first deadline) … after which we have to pay $700 something… i will rather save $200 by not giving for retab.. thanks anyways and good luck..

Do you only have the chance to re-tab before you register again??

I’m going for a retab. Sent off my $100 today. But from reading all the posts it sounds like you have more chance being struck by lightening twice in the same place. But still it will give closure and I wont die wondering.
Anyway I’ll post the standard reply from the CFA Institute saying that no errors were found and sign up for round 2 level 2.

Quant was very tricky. I remember changing many of my answers after i realized it was a one tailed test instead of two/or the ztable given was for one tailed test… something like that but it was tricky for sure. Just see how many people have got less than 50% in quant whereas the questions were seemingly quite regular. save your money. if cpk can fail, anybody can.

As requested, your June 2009 CFA® examination was manually retabulated to ensure that no errors were made in the scoring of your examination.
Your answer sheets were verified by candidate number and name. Your marked answers were compared to the answer key and your score was compared to your score in the CFA Institute computer database.
No errors were found and your original score remains unchanged.
Sincerely,
Ms. B. Evans

Guess my six >70%, three >50% and only one <50% were not enough to pass. Band 10 fail; completely pissed off now! At least I have closure.

ohh anxiouswaitn… sorry to hear tht.. u were really close …
i dont thnk ths retab is going to help .. i dont thnk thy will ever change the result unless and until thr is some error while uploading the result at thr website…

I’ve never seen a successful retab on AF. You never know though. By the way, all of the exams are both electronically and hand graded before the exam results are posted. The CFA Institute must make a fortune from the retabs.

CFA 10, there were only 6 questions in quant, are you sure you only got 2 wrong?

I’m contemplating a retab based on the fact that I expected to get about 65-70 on FSA, but only achieved <50, and I was expecting 1/6 on Quant, yet got 70+. I doubt anything will change (or if it does, I’ll probably have my quant reduced), but I’ll give it a go.

They don’t even do anything, they get your 100 bucks, wait a couple of days, than send you a form letter.

CFA_10, I can almost guarantee that you will not pass. Getting <70 on Equity and <=50 on FI is a huge impact. It would be one thing if your fails were predominantly 18 point sections, but this is not the case.
Even if you were borderline, which is probably your best case scenario, a fail on Ethics will give you an overall Fail. I wish you the best of luck, but I think you just wasted $100.
