Hi,

If anybody had completed reading CFA curriculam, could you please post what is the percentage of time that took for each book of 6 volume set.

I am going through volume 1 and it is taking lot of time. I would like to get idea on how much time it takes for each one.

Appreciate your help.

Do yourself a favor and give it all a quick read. And then, you'll know for yourself, what areas will require more time than others.

If you try to learn it all on the first go, you'll fail to grasp the big picture - a really important topic at all 3 levels, but most important at LI.

Chinni,

It took me a little over five months to get through it all in preparation for June 2006. This did not permit me adequate time for review and practice exams.

Unless you anticipate you'll be able to substantially accelerate your pace through the remaining volumes, finishing it all about 3-6 weeks before the exam (so you can review), I recommend acquiring a third-party study notes solution ASAP (e.g. Schweser, Stalla, etc.).

Either way, you've got a lot of ground to cover in the months to come.

There's still have time to change course if you deem it necessary, but that window of opportunity is closing rapidly.

Good luck this December.

Chinni,

I started with the CFAI curriculum, and it took forever to go through the first book, but the second one, Econ, is taking twice less than anticipated, it reads very smoothly, plus I started reading more selectively and skipping stuff I am very familiar with, so now I am back on track. CFAI is all i plan to use for the material coverage and then I plan on getting Q-Bank or other practice tests for the final month.

Hope that helps

Appreciate for all your posts. I also felt first volume to take lot of time. It took me more than 3 weeks and still have few items to read again to understand better. I am able to complete around 9 sessions from economics in 4 days. I have to review few of the topics since I did not understand them at first glance.

I guess volume 1 scares a lot to overestimate time for other volumes.

Thanks again for replies
