Relative currency return

If I say that the expected change in norwegian krown relative to the US dollar is -0,4%, does it mean that that the norwegian krown is expected to appreciate or to depreciate? I understood appreciation, but Schweser says it depreciates

it’s a negative return. Depreciates.
