Retabulation

I got my retab result for CFA Level III June 2013 and I also believe now that they don’t do anything but sent a pre-designed mail which says like -
As requested, your June 2013 CFA® examination was manually retabulated to ensure that no errors were made in the scoring of your examination.

Your examination was verified by candidate number and name and was carefully reviewed to ensure that each answer was graded and that the score was recorded correctly. The total score of your answer book and answer sheet was compared to your total score in the CFA Institute database.

No errors were found and your original score remains unchanged.

It’s a complete waste of money. Is there not any other way we can challenge them. I am confident that I should have passed this time but don’t know what else I can do to prove them wrong. Any suggestions
 
May I know when you applied for retab and how long did CFA take to get back on this?

Sorry to hear your result Vivek. But unfortunately there is nothing you can do to challenge them, they dont provide any re”valuation” per say.. Good luck!
 
After all these years, and seeing so many retabs. I think the only reason anyone should do a retab is if they felt really confident they nailed the exam and got a terrible result, like band 3. Something totally out of whack.
If you felt so-so on the exam and failed with a band 10, chances are there’s nothing wrong, and retab is just money down the drain
 
It’s amazing to me that so many people believe that CFAI has little or no ethical standards and are up to nefarious activities. Why would an organization that stresses so much on ethics be part of all the conspiracies people keep mentioning? Peopl have all kinds of stupid paranoid ideas…..from artificially keeping the pass rate low to not actually retabulating your score. If you truly believe that CFAI is so corrupt then why try so hard to be a part of the program? Also the peeople that belittle the value of the designation truly baffle me. If it’s not that big a deal then why kill yourself to try to pass? Why waste so much time and effort to get the charter?? There are lots of people with “sour grapes” syndrome on this site.
 
i heard a rumour that they make you sign an NDA if you get a retabulation and it changes the result.
sounds far fetched and it’s probably a load of bollocks but it honestly wouldn’t surprise me if it was true.

I agree. It’s ridiculous. CFAI is actually very transparent in how they set standards, MPS, etc. It’s all laid out. I don’t see what their motivation would be to go after people just to screw them over. It makes no sense at all. For the profit motivate, I think they make several times as much from a full member than a single re-take, so this is just absolute nonsense.
It’s hard for many to accept failing after putting in so much effort (I failed three exams in my quest here, so I’m speaking from experience). However, this isn’t some intro undergrad course where you can cry your way to a pass. Most people fail. Fact. It’s tough stuff.
The conspiracy theories help deflect personal responsibility for outcomes. However, without accepting personal responsibility, it’s hard to improve next time if you think people are just out to screw you rather than looking at your own prep.
 
I have been waiting for almost three weeks , when I called they said that there is some issue with my retab and asked me to wait little longer
