maybe times the avg posts she made on here times the statistical average amounts of time in minutes the average internet poster spends per post on the a forum times the hourly wage derived by her salary given in the first post times 1/60.

I care about net-compensation. I care about benefits that my employer pays rather than having to come out of my pocket after taxes to pay it myself. Being from a country with no income tax, it matters to me to compare the two. What is it they call that?? NPV??

This is the first one on this forum I've seen turn into a full-on flame-o-rama.

BTW, it's net pay and cost of living comparisons which matters, you jerk-offs; you can't pay your electric bills with money the government took from you.
 
Gotta disagree with you hayhurst. While net pay is important, for comparative purposes gross pay is the figure to use. It's what employers themselves use. If you have a job offer in NY and one in New Mexico, both will be quoted to you in terms of gross pay. Moreover, there are numerous websites that will provide adequate salary comparisons across various locations.

Wow. Analyst Tom lives and works in NYC and makes 150K a year while Analyst Tim lives and works in Birmingham and makes 100K. Difference is Tim can afford a beach house in the Bahamas and Tim can't, somehow he's in debt.

Thanks for the advice, but I'm gonna weigh net pay just as much as gross pay.

Next time you get a job offer make sure you ask for the number on a net basis.

Whoa.

Forget about your salary for a second. I would be concerned about your employability. A major factor in finance is your ability to get along with people under stress. Loxley...'s comment was inappropriate and a simple response like "Sorry for my grammar errors. English is not my first language. Unfortunately, there is no Hungarian website for CFA candidates" would have brought an apology from Loxley... and the whole thing would have been done. Instead you flew off the handle with some pretty sick stuff, including the most overt physical threat I have ever read an AF. I wouldn't want someone like that around my business at any salary, no matter how much credential they have.

I recognize that Loxley... baited you a little (bad Loxley...) but you need to get a grip on this stuff. Frankly, from your posts it seems that you don't understand the fairly basic contract in AF - that people post questions and other people respond to them however they feel. Sometimes this results in helpful advice, sometimes not. In no instance does anybody on AF owe you anything and especially not "customer service".

Right now, all I know about you is that you have some credential and a gift for languages but you have an anger problem and a difficulty understanding simple social contracts. Further, these problems lead you into threatening physical violence. On top of this, you seem to have some sexual identity issues that would not play at all well on Wall St, though I don't know about UK.

I think that you should feel lucky to have any job, at any salary. I suggest that you work on solving some of these other emotional issues and then your credential and your gift for languages will not be impeded by some pretty dismal social dysfunction.

You shouldn't be offended that we've strayed off-topic here -- your original question was not particularly brilliant or insightful, and you have no right to complain about other posters saying whatever they want here. Nobody here is expected to take you seriously, since you've pretty much erased any credibility you once had as a poster with your vulgar behavior and impersonation of a female.

Yeah, we had no sense of humor about 9/11. Geez, you know if I didn't know so many people who got killed by those psycho f**ks maybe I would have laughed a little more. It would have been a lot more fun than going home and hugging my kids and crying.

What's wrong with you?
 
Claire, please dont bringe up 9/11 in this context, it still affect a lot of people around here.
