Schweser CFA Level 3 Practice exams

I will be attempting to pass Level 3 in 2017 after failing (band 8) in 2016. I didn’t get to use Schweser’s six practice exams (probably the reason why I failed). Do I need to buy the 2017 Schweser practice exams ($300) or can I use the ones from 2016. Other than one reading from 2016 which has been replaced with a new one in 2017, there is no change between 2016 and 2017.
I don’t plan to buy any Schweser notes for 2017 - will use CFAI 2017 material along with all my notes etc from 2016.

Using old exam can be helpful however there will be sections that have changed.
Arif last year made a chart of changes on cfai exams which is also helpful.
Also the online test topics will help with your preparation also

Thank you! I have the table made by Arif showing relevant questions from CFAI exams from 2006 onwards. I am planning to try to solve all the relavant old CFAI exam questions. Just one LOS change between 2016 to 17 which is why I was thinking of using the 2016 Schweser exams. Also didn’t want to spend the $300 if most of the questions were going to be the same. If you are taking Level 3 for the first time and do order their 2017 practice exams, we can compare the two and see.
