Has anyone else who used Schweser for Level I decided to not use it for Level II? I’ve heard that it is better to stick to CFA books after Level I.

After going through Equity, AI, and half of CF from the CFAI textbook, I can say that half of the readable material is just filling. I just got Schweser and the difference in study time and recollection is huge.rexthedog wrote:
I was going to use solely the CFA books for l2 after doing l1 with schweser. I started and by about 10 pages in was zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
So I bit the bullet and got the Schweser books for L2. Cuts straight to the point without all the waffle that sometimes CFA books have.
TBH though, I know I’m shooting myself in the foot by not reading from the core curriculum, especially for L2 which is a big jump up. Oh well, that’s the risk i’m taking!
so now you switched to solely use Schweser Notes? I studied Equity, PM, CF and Economics with the CFAI textbook but used Schweser Notes when studying Quant. I don’t have any problem with the textbook except that they have more pages and take much more time to read.MrSmart wrote:

I was a proponent for CFAI books when I started, now I don’t think so anymore. They are best used for reference, but not passing the exam.
