I thought Schweser Level I practice exams were good practice for the real thing.
In taking the Level II practice exams book 2, the morning exam is seemed pretty tuff. Much harder than the first book. Is that normal? Anyone else feel that way?
What scores do people reccomend to get?

You start off with any scrore, it doesnt matter.. But whats important is to show continuous improvement by learning from the mistakes you make in the tests.
Ive known people in this forum who say they started with 40% and then go all the way upto 75+ during those final mocks and then pass comfortably.
As to me, I was always that 65-75% results kind of guy, depending on the # of weightage on my stronger and weaker areas. Good luck, the fact that you are doing tests months ahead means you have finished and are confident. Just keep improving and also refreshing the topics learnt continuously.
Good luck!

Yes. That is normal, for a variety of reasons.
  1. You probably haven’t seen the material in a couple of months, so it’s not as fresh as it was when you wen through the book.
  2. Instead of focusing on one study session, then moving to another, all the concepts are thrown at you at once. In other words, regarding FRA–in the book, you learned about Fixed Assets, then took the test, then moved on to another FRA topic. In the exam, however, you might have a question about Fixed Assets, Pension Plans, Intercorporate Investments, and Inventories.
  3. You’re being forced to aggregate all the things you’ve learned in that particular topic together.
  4. The vignette format is harder than the one-question format.
You’ll also find that on the tests, the morning may be a lot more or less difficult than the afternoon. This is also normal, and will probably happen on test day. So if you have a bad morning, don’t let it bug you.
What scores do I recommend you get? Well, I’d shoot for 100%. (I’ve always wondered why people ask this. Is there really any other goal other than 100%?)

I scored <60 for all my schweser from level 1 to level 3 but passed each level in one try.
In exam, I will make use of the 3 hrs to think/recheck answer.

Honestly, if you’re not getting 75+ at this point, it is probably best to wait until 2014 to take level II

Yeah I’m finding it quite tough to make a strategy for level 2 practice exams. For level 1 I just kept repeating them and passed the exam on my first go. If anyone has a different strategy for level 2, PLEASE share!
