Did anyone pass here with schweser alone 2011 schweser exam
how were to the questions to the actual exam?

I dont’ think so. I started preparing with Schweser and did CFAI EOC questions after that but was unable to do so. Especially Euro dollar futures, CDOs and other topics like that… I was unable to get proper understanding through Schweser. The way it was value adding in LI, unfortunately I’ve not found it in LII.

Yes. Many, many people pass with only Schweser notes (including myself). I would reccomend doing the EOC questions as well to supplement if you are worried about missing something in the actual CFAI curriculum.

Many, many people pass using Schweser only, and many, many fail as well. There is no reliable way to know if the pass rate for these candidates is better, worse or the same as the general candidate population.
My technique (and I passed Level II in 2011) was to use both books side-by-side.

I am also using schweser but when I open curriculum I feel like a lot of stuff is disconnected or missing.

I took Level 2 in June 2011 and passed with the help of Schweser Books (cheap knockoff version from the Orient) and EOC from CFAI. Schweser is certainly sufficient if you supplement your reading with CFAI material wherever you do not understand Schweser. It is impossible to study all of CFAI material while working full time or even part time.

I agree with the above post. I relied primarily on Schweser and referred to CFAI when I needed clarification or didn’t understand a topic. Using that approach, I didn’t feel like there was a single topic that flew over my head. Granted, I didn’t pass LI..so I know most will point to that as the reason, but it had nothing to do with Schweser v CFAI books. For level I, i was able to review all the material and take a couple practice exams the final week and a half before the exam. I took the same approach for level II (hey, it worked the first time), and it failed me badly. It takes much longer to review LII bc you’re required to have a deeper understanding of the material. I only finished reviewing half the material and wasn’t able to take a single practice test or practice any Qbank questions. I might as well have outright skipped the half I didn’t get to, bc it felt like that on exam day. It had been a couple months since i looked at a lot of the material.
Sincerely though, based on my results, had I reviewed the other half of the curriculum and sampled some practice problems, i think i would’ve done fine. Schweser as a whole works well, just don’t hesitate to reference other sources if you need to.
