It says on the pension sectin that for IFRS the discount rate = expected rate of return on plan assets
That’s not correct right? Expected rate of return is only used in GAAP?
Expected rate of return = Discount rate for IFRS
the reason you don’t see expected return in the calculations for Pension Expense under IFRS is because it is captured when you do the discount rate * funded status for the interest expense/income
