Schweser Vs CFAI mocks-- Level-1 Dec 2014--Relax and share thoughts

Hey Analyst forumites !!! Most of my friends agreed to it–
Conclusion after so much of time and money invested-
Prepare with schweser-Score around 80% in their practice exams and Score around 50-60 % in CFAI mocks
Prepare with other than schweser prep provider-Score around 80 % in CFAI mocks and Score around 65 % in Schweser practice exams..
Thank god cause I belong to the latter category…I guess scoring in CFAI mocks is essential coz its the CFAI who is going to prepare the question paper…So All the best folks

I scored an 81% on the CFAI march mock which was about the same as the schweser mock so i feel like it was relativley similar. Although I feel like the CFAI mock was much more straight forward. Schweser trys to trick you.
 
I am averaging 70% on both Schweser and CFA mocks. I guess i am screwed?

Like Joe35y said, I’m not really seeing a difference in CFAI vs. Schweser (although I’ve only done one full length from each). The exceptions go to poor wording and lack of clarity in Schweser compared with CFAI.
Here is the weight I would assign to kumar’s “amazingly small, yet free from bias sample”–> weight=0.0000
I think he was more excited to say he is doing alright on CFAI mock exams…Your scores aren’t “screwed” material, just keep plugging away!
 
I did the CFAI mock exams and consistently get 72-73, do you think this is “safe”? I am taking the 6th December 2014 exam.
And one more question: How do you rate the actual exam with the CFAI mock? ( better written, no “tricky” wording, easier questions…?). If any information that would be helpful/encouraging!
P/S: After learning the Ethics, this is so wrong haha!
 
Why is the CFAI mock not weighted like previous mock exams? It only covered certain topics in the AM and PM.
 
I did the cfa mock 2 AM session, the weights seemed ok to me, except they had a different order.
Score: 83%.
I believe CFA makes you think long and hard compared to schweser. Only a few questions are straightforward.
 
At this point, I’m going to shift gears and stop taking Mock Exams and just review the incorrect questions.
Then start memorizing formulas and quickly review Ethics.
 
Ah yes!
Well there are only 2 mock exams right? You just get to do one either in 2 sections or not.

Agree with you. My last week includes memorizing the formulas i still don’t know. Taking one final read through all the schweser books and doing all the questions in the CFAI from the website and section practice problems. While reviewing the problems I get wrong. Also taking one final read through the ethics section from the CFAI and bust out practice problems for those daily + all day friday
 
This is what I’ve got in my mocks so far (earliest to latest):
Sch01 (Vol1): 57%, 62%
Sch02 (Vol2) 58%, 64%
CFAI Mock 1: 58%, 65%
Sch01 (Vol2): 57%, 80%
CFAI Mock 2: 67%, 72%
I’m planning to spend the rest of the week studying some schweser text and doing CFAI section questions from the site.
