Self-selection bias right there! Just like in hedge fund benchmarks.Thiru Cumaran wrote:
What I’ve noticed is that it’s generally teh people who have done well in the practice/mock tests who are posting their scores on AF. The ones that did bad generally don’t do so, so don’t be too disheartened.
if that’s the case, 0/10 is indeed correct. if there’s 12 points and 3 reasons needed, you’d probably get 3 points for the correct choice, and 3 points for each correct reason/justification.Tommyjohn wrote:
i started thinking about partial credit: how much do you give yourself on a big juicy 12 point question where they ask for 3 things and then an overall conclusion: let’s say you get the answer wrong, but your supporting evidence for your wrong answer is right (as in, you give the opposite overall directional advice that the question asks for, but your underlying reasons would be correct if that was indeed the right answer). am i really to give myself a big fat 0/10 on questions like those?
Agreed… I think at this point it’s just a matter of staying focused during the exam. There would be no benefit harassing your brain to do more mocks. I am just summarising my notes again and that is it!DoYouLikePhilCollins wrote:
There’s no sense in doing more than 6-7 mocks, in my opinion. The reality is that the material can be asked a million different ways and rather than taking every CFAI or Kaplan, Wiley, or any other test prep provider’s mock, you should really do whatever makes you feel comfortable (6-7, maybe less) and then review those answers and make sure you know why you got them wrong. It’s better to learn from your low scores on the mocks you did rather than do another mock because the changes that new mock can ask you 15 other topics that weren’t on your past mocks….is high.
That being said, those scores aren’t that low. Know why you got things wrong and you’ll be good to go for game day.
