I am interested in finding out who needs a Series 24 license.
For CFAers, how hard is the test?
How is Series 24 different from say Series 26?
Does it help in Inv. Banking to have a Series 24?
What kind of sponsorship is usually required?
You will need to have a BD sponsor you for a Series 7 and then a Series 24. I have these licenses but I have never taken the 26 so I have no way of comparing them.
CFA is another story. The process is totally different and much harder.
I don’t recall the 24 being terribly hard. Boring as hell it is. If I recall…and it’s been 10 years or so…it’s essentially memorizing a lot of rules and regulations. Go home tonight and try to memorize the owners manual for your computer…that will give you a good feel for what the 24 is like.
Any of those tests are a joke…do the STC practice exams, read the answer expalinations and you will pass. 24 is for anyone who is considered a principle at a firm.
