Setting the Calculator ?

hey there,

I have a TI BA II plus. I understand the calculator settings (eg: for PV month beginning etc) need to be set a certain way prior to the exam for ease of use.

Can anybody, who is experienced at the exam let me know which settings i NEED to change to avoid any calculatoin errors ?

Need to change the default of P/Y=12 to P/Y=1. To do this enter

Enter

Double check hit
2nd funtion
P/Y

You should see a 1.00000.

Also may want to set your TI to show 5 sign. fiqures after decimal.

I would set the computing rules to AOS, which I think is a better approach to compute. Set the precision to 9, the maximum. Also, set the time line to year end. Remember to clear the memory right after each calculation or you will get wrong answer. Mind the sign of PV, FV, or PMT. And that's all there is to BA2 Plus.

Schweser's site usually has a "How To Use Your BAII+ Calculator" manual - it's about 15 pages and I think it's still free. It's a great asset to have.
