I just passed L2 this time, however, I am not sure if I should finish all the exams so soon - I have only worked for 1 yr and I would not get the charter even if I pass it. Would this make me "overqualified" for some junior positions but still not qualified for senior positions? How do you guys see this?

Agreed with SP,
Just do it. Assuming you pass next year, you will have over two years by the time you have L3 under your belt. You probably wouldn't want real junior positions then anyway, sort of lower end of intermediate would probably be your target. You shouldn't be overqualified for that just because of having L3 passed. If you are, you can just stay where you are for another year before moving on, or look at B-School. So worst case, you will be in the same spot but you will have the big hurdle out of your way.

The longer you wait, the more the study materials change. If you wait say 5 years, you will find a lot of the stuff and terminology from old L2 have changed. You are just making more work for yourself. Just go for it!

If you pass, just don't mention to people you have the charter until you are 55.

You'll probably have more time on your hands now than later, if you're the over-achieving type. Make use of that opportunity to do L3 now. Also, koz said a very good point - you wouldn't want your L3 curriculum to be far off from what you reviewed in L2. I think I breezed through at least 20% of the 2006 L3 LOS because they were touched on in the 2005 L2.

why not get it out the way asap?

you can get the working experience later.

you will only find yourself getting busier, the older (more experience) you are,
the more work waiting for you...

I suggest, get it done next year, whether you pass or fail, it's all good for you.
