I was just wondering if anyone has skipped a few essay parts (equivalent to 1 problem set) and still passed?
thanks,

I have seen people getting 80% of the AM session below 50% and still pass.

ok that’s reassuring for me at least. that means they really had to kill the PM section. I don’t think I scored below 50% but I feel like I did very well in the PM. Hopefully my feeling is correct.

Level 3 has pass rates over 50% so quite possible.
Thats 50% of those who have passed Level 2…competition is quite tough…proportion of people better prepared for L-3 must be more than proportion of people who are better prepared amongst those who appear for L-2

All I’m saying is MPS is probably lower than previous levels.

Why can’t it be the case that, MPS is similar to other levels but only ppl being more competitive and motivated then other levels resulting in every 1 out of 2 candidate exceeding the MPS
This is a very real possibility as suggested by love_lord&#8217

it happened with me—i missed 2 q in AM but absolutely nailed PM—-it all depends on your PM score if you are scoring around 85% in PM you have a fair chance. I did so and passed…as per my calculation I would have atleast got 80% and may be around 85% to 90% with few guesses.
Have hope. Pray

This year in PM I don’t know how anyone could score 85%+ there were so many subjective questions where you couldn’t be certain of the right answer. AM who knows? I answered all questions but that means little, just answering them doesn’t equal marks all depends how they grade it. All in all this year’s exam contained quite a few questions which really haven’t been tested in that way before, so I’m hoping that lowers the MPS as surely I wasn’t the only one to be surprised by some of the questions. The format was also different than it has ever been before… You think if a certain topic is tested there’s a few ways it can be tested, you practice and practice, then the exam throws up something completely different. If I’m the only one who feels this way then my result is pretty much confirmed lol!

I finished the PM in about 2 hours, usually that’s a good sign but the way the questions were I really don’t know…

Nah you pretty much described how I feel. Answered all AM but definitely could have gotten 0 credit on many sub-sections. Hopefully I don’t need a damn 85+ in PM! Jeez.

Found PM a bit trickier and tougher….more of qualitative questions than quantitative ones….relying more on AM too….

I felt PM was very hard.. and I did every EOC/BB/online topic tests- multiple times
seems like they went out of there way to over analyze every question

so people did find PM more tricker than last year! I thought I was the only one

i agree PM was way tougher than last year but somehow AM session was easier with lot of calculations ..

This year AM had many calculations and PM was relatively difficult. So AM was encouraging for me, but PM was relatively disappointing.
However, whenever i feel confident about CFA Exams, i tend to fail miserably.
Level 2 - 2011 - I was very confident - I failed Band 5
Level 2 - 2012 - I was less confident - I passed, all>70 barring 2
Level 3 - 2015 - I was very confident - I failed Band 8
This year Level 3 - 2016 - I am very confident - But you know what is going to happen
