Hi All,

If you failed L1, my advice is to hit the textbooks. Forget about Schweser, Stalla, or whatever study notes that you may have. While some people may have passed using the notes exclusively, your background might be different and so learning the material from the original source may be more beneficial to you. Only when you have mastered the materials I would suggest using the study notes. Remember, the study notes are supposed to be complements to the real curriculum, not replacements of it.

Good luck on your next attempt!

Keep your head up. One of two thigns happened.
1) you were testing poorly in the areas you performed poorly on in the test. These are not large areas so studying harder in these areas is not going to break your back.
or
2) you were testing well in these areas and just did poorly on gameday. If so, you just need to practice testing in simulated conditions. You're not far off. Give yourself a month off, and hit the books. I think you can do it.

roshantapa,
you are close to passing. You need more study in quant and derivatives.

I am looking at the scores of the people that failed and I can't believe that I passed.

I'm guessing that I was the last one that made it. :) Oh well. Just an FYI, I took probably 10 practice exams and starting getting 70 or better on the last 4. I took a class, ordered Schweser, and all the CFA Material....but I am also married, job, and kids.

I just noticed this forum, look forward to posting here and this should help for Level II.

To those that didn't pass, keep your head up and I'm sure you will do well in December.

Cheers!

quick question for those who failed.

do you think you guys failed b/c you didn't ahve enough time to study because of demanding jobs or because by test time you didnt feel you had a strong grasp of some of the topics. or are there other reasons such as question wording, nerves, etc.

i'm taking the test next june so just wanted to get peoples feedback. many thanks

didnt study enough. topics are all intorductory college level classes, not more difficult then that

I am awaiting the results of level 3, but in my experience the 2 keys for me were to:

1) WORK ALL ASSIGNED TEXTBOOK PROBLEMS
2) TAKE AS MANY PRACTICE EXAMS AS POSSIBLE (10 FULL 6 HOUR EXAMS FOR ME FOR LEVEL 2 & 3)

Especially with level 2, you can read the material all you want, but the key is to be able to answer a variety of questions.
