How long after getting a PASS do you guys plan to wait to start studying for level 3?
I’d like to sell my level 3 materials online somewhere (ebay or craigslist) but don’t know when a good time to list them is, I’m eager to get them out of my office and forget all about them.

not studying for the rest of the year regardless of the outcome. Will re-start in January.

My plan is to start around mid-October or so… that’s what I did for Levels I and II, why stop now? That is also about when Schweser books starting coming out and stuff…

I won’t be taking any CFA exam next year, whether I pass or fail L2. I need to pass my CPA exams by end of next year (preferably this year), so I need a break once those are done. I am not studying for 18 months straight + whatever time it takes me to study L3.
Now watch me say that and pass all my CPA exams this year and be bored in December and decide to register for L3. haha. I need more of a life…

I think I would just give the texts one hour a day starting september, just to be in touch with studies. I work full time and have a family and am not too young either :) So I require time to get to steam and this one hour a day really helps me :)

hey krazy kanuck..how is the cpa compared to cfa? all the best!

I’ve got CAIA in September so I’ll start in October. I find it easier to keep going at an even pace than sprinting at the last moment.

After I fail Level II? Probably wait til October. If but some ridiculous stroke of luck I pass, I won’t even take Level III til 2014. This test has killed whatever little social life I had and I need to get some of it back.

I’ll start slowly starting mid-August. Read and make notes at my pace. At the most devote 60-90 minutes a day (upper limit) to read through the Curricula provided by the CFA institute.
Of course, this is all subject to I clearing level II! :)

Probably early November. How much are you planning on selling your notes for?

I was initially planning on studying for FRM Part 1. But there are many things going on for me right now, so I was thinking maybe I could do a financial modeling course for the first few months. Once, I am done with it, I would start studying for the next level provided I passed :) . However, the problem is I already have schweser notes and BT material for FRM part 1 2012. So I am kind of confused if they would be relevant for the FRM exam in 2013.

Provided i Pass .. which i really doubt .. i’l definitely take a long break .. get social and then decide at the year end whether i need to take L3 or not …

yeah I made a deal with the devil that if I actually pass I’ll start immediatly.

Immediately if I pass.
CFA Retake - are you planning to sell your L III materials even before knowing whether you passed or failed?

BTW hope I am not misrepresenting myself - I am calling myself “Level III candidate” hoping that would be true in a few days :) (I took level II in June 2012).

Are you kidding? this is a direct violation. You can’t call yourself a L3 candidate until you officially have registered for it.
