I would really appreciate it if someone could please tell me what this "special sauce" is all about. It's mentioned in quite a few posts, but I can't figure out what it is. I'm first time candidate for December, and I'm really glad to have found this forum! I've learned so much already!

I'd like to know too, I haven't tried it (basic Notes product only), but it sure sounds delicious!

Look at the schweser website (the one who sells the product).

It is basically summary notes of all the topics, like 200 pages total I think.

I bought it for the June 07 exam. It's a handy little resource for on-the-go studying, however I ended up rarely using it. The $80 selling price is pretty rediculous.

I wrote in June of 2007 and had a 1 week vacation already booked in Cuba late April. I reluctantly brought secret sauce and the ethics manual with me. I really enjoyed secret sauce and found it effective. (i passed).
I wouldn't touch it until you're in review phase though.

The Schweser Secret Sauce is a 200 page book about 5x8 in size...It is great for a few hour read the day before the exam just to recap some of the key areas...but does not cover everything.

It does give some very good test taking tips at the end as well.

With all of the money everyone is spending...the marginal cost of $80 is worth it.

First time replying......

Bought secret sauce for the June 07 exam.......taking the December Level 1. It's a good primer for the readings and from the other posts it should be a good review just before taking the exam.

I found it very useful when I was working with the Practice Exams, wouldn't have wanted to be without it and my copy is now full of bookmarks and scribbled notes. It comes as either a PDF file (non-printable) or an ordinary book. I found the book useful, not the PDF; you can easily bring the book with you in your handbag/portfolio. It's in a smaller size than than the ordinary Schweser books.

Thanks for all the info and advice. I think I'm going to need all the help I can get!!

Also willing to sell ($50), you can get it from me next day if you work in Boston or live in Brookline.
