Happy New Year.
I had signed up on this web site when I started preparing for my CFA exams back in 2004 (though never got active on it beyond checking out a few posts after each exams).
I am in between jobs right now (worked for a small mom and pop RIA here in DC area). Seperated from the firm last month; currently exploring job opportunities as well as thinking about starting on own little RIA firm (like a few posts I noted on this forum). I am in my late 40s and a career switcher 12 years ago; now boxed on the retail side due to the career track I chose after getting on the investment side.
Anyone keen on: the idea of partnering up/doing the work together on the RIA setup aspects if you are thinking of going on your own? Let me know if you like the idea and we can communicate further.

- Also has anyone used IB platform for retail advisory/RIA setup? what is your experience.
- If anyone has checked with TD lately and has anything changed with them in terms of AUM minimum lately?
- Ideally I would love to start with someone else (someone who has passion on the planning/relationship side)
- This is a good article from a young lady – thought it was worth sharing http://www.kitces.com/blog/setting-...nancial-planning-practice-on-less-than-10000/
- Any CFPs here who may be more keen on the planning side.
- Other tips worth keeping in mind if you can think of any – esp. if you have gone thru’ the experience recently.
