"I provided you with the lead, now its up to you whether or not you want to close the deal. "

Thats priceless.

Dr.

who told you to buy PDX? check my original post, I hope you're more careful when fill in limit prices!

If I'm going to "pretend" to buy and sell some stocks, I might as well just sign up and participate in the CNBC's "Millon Dollar Portfolio Challenge." At least, I can win a weekly prize of $10,000, with a strategic plan to win the million dollar prize at the end of the contest. $10,000 is not bad for a week's job. Time is money.

This is what the sales people I work with do, except that they have taken it one step further. It seems (or maybe I'm just cynical) that they hedge by intentionally taking the opposite position as some of our analysts on any particular stock. If the stock goes against the analyst, they win, and if the stock goes for the analyst, they can just forward on the research report to their clients and say "I told you so." Brilliant. (And sadly, it apparently works pretty well.)

Edit: I'm starting to feel that sales people really add almost no value whatsoever to the client, except maybe in a repackaging role in the event that the client is too lazy to read the entire research report.

Looking at return 8 days later is a recipe for disaster. You might as well annualize 'em too.

If anyone hasn't bought SUPG yet, you should get in now for a nice ride up to at least 7.5. The smart money is loading up on 7.5 calls. I think stock will easily hit that soon. Earnings will be nice as well.

chaquan, seeing your posts reminds me of why i stopped visiting this board. here's some of your finer musings.

on the merits of cashing in your 401k to start a hedge fund:

on demonstrating your general knowledge of hedge funds:

on lying about job offers:

on proof of his own lies...and delusional career prospects:

on long-term investing:

wegowayback,

I don't see what the problem with any of those messages are. Never lied about job offers so unless you have some evidence, you should probably let us all know right now. And don't refer to a message as evidence, just tell us.

On long-term investing, are you jealous of my picks? Angry that you didn't buy when you had the chance? Don't worry there will be more opportunities my friend. If you ever some quick bucks to pay the electric bill, just give me a ring.

Knowledge of hedge funds: All I wanted to know is what strategies had the highest YTD returns. People who work at a hedge fund probably have a better idea than I do. But you wouldn't have a clue about that since you're probably a BOM.

Come again anytime..
