Hey,
Are Kaplan Scheweser Notes sufficient to pass CFA Level 1 or should i also refer to the notes given by the CFA Institute?
Thanks!

There’s no right answer here. Some people find it sufficient, others don’t. It all depends on your overall understanding prior to studying. If you feel you don’t need as much material go for it, if you want to get ALL the material go for the CFAI material. Scheweser is a lot shorter than the CFAI material so there will obviously be some things left out, that may be what is tested or maybe not. If you go the CFAI route generally what is in the material makes up all of the exam. I think I saw somewhere before 95% of all the people who did it found the CFAI material covered all the stuff the exams tested.

There are definitely pros and cons to each.
The curriculum is exhaustive, often winding, filled with mundane details, and written by multiple authors with different styles. But it’s what the test will be based from.
With third party notes you’re counting on brevity that doesn’t sacrifice anything relevant.
I wrote a full comparison of the two here https://gostudy.io/blog/CFA-institute-curriculum-vs-third-party-notes
