Hey all,
I was hoping that some one could help me out here. I am two months into studying for the Dec level 1 exam. So far I have read through about 75% of the CFA curriculum ebook, taking notes and answering the questions at the end of each chapter. Im not really sure how I should go about preparing for the exam and I have a number of questions that I was hoping to get some help with:
1. Do I need any additional material to get through the exam?
2. Has anyone previously used the ebook and if so, how did you find it?
3. Do I need to register for a review course of some sort?
Any guidance about how I should go about studying for the exam would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for all your help in advance folks.

1. You don’t NEED anything other than what CFAI provides.
2. Yes, for Levels I and II. It’s fine. It has all the material you need.
3. Not if you don’t want to.
Finish reading and doing all the EOC questions. Definitely do all of the practice assessments that CFAI provides on your portal, and do the mock exams they provide. Look at your weak areas and go through them again and maybe watch some videos if you still can’t understand it.
If you are 75% through the reading now you are in good shape. Take a bunch of practice tests and rework the end of chapter questions and review the areas you’re struggling in. You’ll be fine.

You are doing excelent if you are at 75% right now. I would suggest that you go through Mock exams, end of chapter problems (once again) and find a source of practice problems (like Schweser qbank) a drill. As the exam approaches, I would suggest that you quickly skim readings and review formulas, and most important, few days before the exam - review Ethics once again to review most important standards and examples.
This looks very good but don’t forget about CFA right now, you have to review and review and practice a lot. For those candidates who are not at 75% or close, I would suggest using TimePrep app to get back on track and make sure they will make it on time, because the exam is approaching :)

I’d add that putting all the equations and key lists of material into notecards and taking those with you whereever you go will be helpful too
You’re way ahead of the game if you’re 3/4 of the way through the material

It’s always a good idea to practice practice practice. I use Apptuto to supplement my studying and I think it’s great because I can practice on my phone when I’m commuting.

Thanks for the responses. Really do appreciate the help. Good luck to everyone sitting exams.

Yeah, Bluebook really helped me a lot. Hopefully you would get what you require.

I’d suggest doing the EOC questions now to identify topics that you are not that strong in, and go through those sections again. afterwards start on the practice exams.
