Hi all,
I’ve borrowed my friend’s 2011 Schweser Notes. Is there any major change in the curriculum that would make studying from 2011 Schweser Notes a mistake? I did this for LI and didn’t have any problem. Can anyone who has done something similar comment on this?
Thanks

I’m not sure if you will get any helpful replies, as nobody studying with the 2011 notes could have taken the 2012 exam yet. However, I’m not familiar with any significant changes to L2 material as compared to last year.
I just searched Google and came across this… Looks mostly the same (mostly wording changes), which most significant changes in Alts:

Lots of stuff has been removed too. Yay!

yeah, for example the equities book has been trimmed - don’t mind that at all!

I am using the 2011 Schweser to study for the exam (I am a retaker). I am using the Schweser book side-by-side with the CFAI material. Mostly from what I have seen, the CFAI material has been trimmed from last year, including some equity concepts like franchise factor. Also, I believe the commodities section has either been trimmed or eliminated. Thus, I have just been able to skip over those sections in Schweser. It has worked out well. The only thing that might be in the CFAI cirriculum not in Schweser is some additional information on alternative investments (at least the material looks to be organized differently than last year at the very least). Good Luck!

Thanks for the info everyone. Looks like I’ll be relying on the Schweser Notes for the most part, and cross-reference with the CFAI books to make sure that I covered everything.
Good luck!
