I'm not a L2er, but I think it has to do with being a really talented defensive back that can't seem to break ties with the thugs you grew up with, and that's single handedly destroying your NFL career. I have to double check, but I think I remeber reading this in one of the books.
 
correct, as you can apply that sob story to numerous other players.
