Has anyone ever attached testimonials from references, cohort peers, managers to a resume?I’ve heard good and bad comments, but seems like a pretty split decision.
I have a lot of recent comments from employers, clients and MBA peers on my managerial, organizational and project management strengths as well has financial and technical attributes, which highlight my experience–but I’m not sure if would it be appropriate to attach these comments to a resume when applying for a job? Or a recruiter?
FYI: I’m seeking work in project management and consultancy.
Any thoughts?

I would not do it. The resume should be able to speak for itself . How does the potential employer know that they are not fabricated ? I would save them as references for the last stage if anything . Just my .02.

I’ve seen stuff like “references available upon request” at the bottom of resumes. I think attaching them in the initial application stage is a bit much though.

IheartMath, I’ve also heard that, but think of yourself as an employer or a human resource staffer…what is the downside?

You’d have to qualify with “Actor portrayal. Results not typical. Your results may be different.”

i dont realy have much of a good reason other than that I think it just seems a little weird and eager. HR might have the same gut reaction. I guess it ultimately cant really hurt though.

You know, it isn’t necessarily a bad idea; just remember that HR types are not known for being open minded about things. Their biggest job is to cover their own rear ends, and the usual way to do this is to select the best credentialed person that conforms to all other norms in the expected way. Yawn!
However, I ones submitted a sheet with bullet points along with my resume. I figured I’d try to help the HR person understand my strengths without having to wade through the resume. Well, when I got the call from HR, it turned out that she had misplaced the resume entirely, and the bullet points alone were what prompted her call, so how’s that for not fitting in to what I just said. ;-)
