The Pen/Pencil debate WITH A TWIST

I know this has been debated at length in previous posts, but if you look at what is CURRENTLY on the CFA Institute’s website, they say “For the essay portion of the exam, it is strongly recommended that you use a No. 2 pencil or an erasable blue or black ink pen.”
This seems like a change, no? They are now suggesting pencil over ordinary pen?

In the test format this year, each question has a designated page / box where you need to answer. If you fill up the box with an answer in pen that you later want to change, that would be a problem.

Erasable pens have a rubber tip on the end which you can use to erase

I am also going for a pen, not sure I will have time to come back and change my answers anyway. I have been trying to think more before I write in my latest mocks and it resulted in less crossing things out and shorter answers, in a way the “non erasable” constraint could be a good way to focus your mind (<= representativeness bias ?)

I also got confused.. many recommend the “frixon” erasable pens but apparently they are heat sensitive, i.e. the writing vanishes.. I dont know about you but I am not going to jeopardize anything.

I will use the pencils, and take 3 of them, and sharpening takes like 3 seconds…
erasable pens are not ´know at LIBRO ;-)
