Hello,
I would like so so so much to start my preparation for the CFA exams.
I am almost 39 years old and I have a bachelor in Economic Cybernetics, Statistics, Informatics and Mathematics and a Master in Quantitave Economy.
I was very enthusiastic when I found out about the CFA program, because I love to study and I always want to challenge myself.
But I have a “little” problem: I do not have qualified investment work experience. I have never worked in this field. I confess I am very disappointed.
I live in Italy. Nowadays it is very very very difficult to find a ANY job, in whichever working area, let’s imagine if I could find an investment/banking job. Even if I were capable to pass the three exams, I would not the work experience that CFA requests……..
I would be very sorry to lose this opportunity. Do you have any suggestion for me, please? Do you think is possible to find a relative job, little by little I would pass the exams? Would my curriculum become more “important”?
I hope so, I am still very motivated.
Thank you and good luck!

It is really difficult to give an advice for quants.
However, I strongly disagree with this crisis part. Maybe it is my profile, but I have always struggled more with finding jobs in the upturn and got my breakthrough job in the worst moment for the market (w/o relevant experience too). So it depends.

Hello Irene, I am also from Italy. May be we can talk about this because I am in the similar situation.
