Good luck. It's just tough enough to get a position out of a target school, and certainly much tougher if you don't go to a school where the banks recruit. I actually think the chances of getting an interview outside of a target school are less than 15% like Mis Ind said, and just a fraction of that cohort is extended offers, as I've seen on both sides of the recruiting front (I interviewed mostly for banking jobs in college). However, don't let that discourage you if you think it is your calling...if anything it should make you all the more determined to find a position. It's definitely an uphill battle to get in if you didn't go to a target school, but probably not impossible either.
BTW, I'm not sure what all the deadlines are, but I saw about a hundred candidates hanging out in our lobby earlier today. Recruiting is definitely in full-force now as many of these folks were interviewing for final rounds. Just don't miss the boat.
