Hey guys,
I just purchased the schweser package and now I’m lost, should I just study from schweser or should I study from the CFA Institute books and then revert to schweser for futher reading? Mind you I haven’t enrolled for the CFA Institute part yet, so I dont have the books yet.
Thanking you in advance.
Regards
Yolanda

CFAI books for Ethics.
Schweser for everything else.
Practice questions. Review CFAI books (together with Schweser) for any areas that you need to improve.

I too agree with Studyguy18. I think i have wasted my lot of time in reading CFAI books as well which most of the time did not make any sense !! CFAI authors should write the books which are easily understandable.
to add to above, it will be good to go thru CFAI blue section case studies as well. They are worth reading.

Hi.
To my mind curriculum books worth reading after the Schweser Notes have been studied only. I believe everyone agrees, that Schweser brings material in a compact and easy to understand way, unfortunately, I lost too much time trying to crawl through the CFAI textbooks to find Schweser being much more useful. Since you got all the essentials out of Schweser and had some practice from QBank, you may drill into Curriculum to bring your mind in a proper state and find lots of details that may save your exam occasionally. Then you take mocks and practice exams to test your readiness for the eaxm. But this way of study takes many months and forces you to learn days and nights to be prepared in time.

I mainly focused on the schweser material. I only found myself reading the CFAI curriculum on some topics that were giving me a hard time. However, do ALL practice questions (from schweser Qbank, schweser EOC, and CFAI EOC questions). This will give you a sense of how questions even on the same topic are structured/worded differently.

I three agree with Studyguy. Official curriculum is too wordy and drawn out.
FYI - I passed all three levels using only Schweser. I believe it’s the only way to go.

You can simultaneouly reference the blue and the summary part of the CFAI ebook and do your main reading with any third party materials.
